Pro Tip — Large Voids & Spalls

For larger repairs, add clean, dry sand or pea gravel to the mixed product to extend volume and reduce material cost. Mix sand in after combining Parts A and B, working quickly within the pot life window.

1
Verify Job Site Conditions

Before opening any material, confirm that ambient and substrate conditions fall within acceptable ranges. PP-CF will not perform correctly if applied outside these parameters.

Substrate Temp
50°F – 86°F
(10°C – 30°C) — GO zone
Air Temp (Application)
23°F – 100°F
(-5°C – 38°C) — GO zone
Relative Humidity
≤ 85%
Max during app & cure
Substrate Moisture
< 4%
Test before applying
Dew Point Buffer
+5.5°F
Substrate must be ≥3°C above dew point
Concrete Strength
≥ 3,625 PSI
Required at 28-day cure

Do Not Apply If…

  • Substrate moisture exceeds 4% — product will not bond properly
  • Substrate is below 50°F or above 86°F
  • Substrate temp is within 5.5°F of the dew point
  • Exterior use at ground level — avoid this application
2
Surface Preparation

AMechanical Profile

Use a diamond grinder with 30-grit or coarser tooling, BLASTRAC shot blaster, or sand blasting to open the concrete surface and establish a mechanical profile. This step is critical for adhesion.

BClean the Surface

Remove all dust, debris, oil, grease, and fats. Any oil or fat contamination must be eliminated before application — these will cause adhesion failure. Water blasting is also acceptable for general cleaning.

CBlow Out Cracks

Use compressed air to blow out loose concrete, dust, and debris from cracks and control joints. Debris in cracks will reduce material penetration and bonding depth.

DPrime (If Required)

PP-CF is self-priming on properly prepared concrete. However, if the substrate is highly porous, prime and allow to dry fully before application. Confirm concrete strength meets the 25 MPa (3,625 PSI) requirement.

⚠️

Prep is Everything

PP-CF is self-priming, but that doesn't replace proper surface prep. Inadequate mechanical profiling or contamination left behind is the #1 cause of delamination. Grind first, clean second, apply third — no shortcuts.

3
Mixing

Mix Ratio

By Volume: 1:1 (Part A : Part B)
By Weight: 100:118 (Part A : Part B)

Mixing Procedure

  • Mix each component separately before combining
  • Pour Part B into Part A — not the other way around
  • Mix together for no more than 30 seconds
  • Only prepare what you can apply within pot life
⏱️

Pot Life: 2–3 Minutes

Once mixed, you have just 2–3 minutes at 77°F before the material begins to set. In warmer conditions, pot life shortens. Work in small batches and do not mix more than you can apply immediately.

🌡️

Temperature Affects Pot Life

Higher temps = shorter pot life. In hot weather (85°F+), pre-condition material in a cooler environment and work in smaller mix batches to maintain workability.

4
Application

Pour & Fill

Pour and apply the mixed PP-CF directly into the prepared crack, joint, or spall area. PP-CF is self-leveling — it will flow into low spots and settle without requiring extensive tooling. For vertical repairs or step rebuilding, you may need to use a form to contain the material while it sets.

Filling Control Joints

PP-CF is rated for non-moving control joints only. Do not use in expansion joints or anywhere movement is expected. Pour slowly to allow material to penetrate the full depth of the joint before it begins to gel.

Overfilling & Grinding

For flush repairs, slightly overfill the area. Once fully cured (10–15 min), grind flush with a diamond grinder or angle grinder. Hard dry occurs in 5–10 minutes — wait for a full cure before grinding.

Coating Over PP-CF

When using PP-CF as part of a coating system (e.g., prior to polyurea or epoxy topcoat), allow full cure and verify flush finish. Any high spots should be diamond-ground flush before topcoat application to avoid telegraphing through the coating system.

5
Cleanup

Equipment Cleaning

Clean all tools and application equipment immediately with an appropriate solvent cleaner. Once PP-CF hardens, it can only be removed mechanically — solvents will not work on cured material.

Splatter Cleanup

If uncured product splatters on unintended surfaces, wash immediately and thoroughly with hot soapy water. Act fast — you have only a few minutes before it begins to harden.

Skin & Eye Contact

  • Skin: Wash with soap and water immediately. Prolonged contact may cause irritation or sensitization.
  • Eyes: Rinse continuously with water for at least 15 minutes. Seek medical attention.
  • Remove contaminated clothing; clean before reuse.
🫁

Inhalation & Sensitization

  • Components A and B contain toxic ingredients. Avoid breathing vapors.
  • This product is a strong sensitizer — repeated exposure can cause sensitization.
  • If inhaled, move victim to fresh air immediately. Consult a physician.
📋

Always Reference the SDS

This guide covers application-level safety reminders only. Always consult the full Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for complete hazard information, first aid measures, and disposal requirements before working with PP-CF.

Storage & Handling

Storage Requirements

  • Store between 50°F and 89°F (10°C – 32°C) in original, factory-sealed containers
  • Keep in a dry location, away from direct sunlight
  • Keep away from heat sources and fire hazards
  • Shelf life is 12 months in unopened containers — label kits with receipt date
  • In cold weather, pre-warm components to room temperature before use to reduce viscosity and improve flow
